From the well-established Louis Jadot comes this 2021 Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet, Burgundy’s second smallest Grand Cru for white wine with an area of 3.68 hectares. The soil is similar to that of Le Montrachet but ever so slightly heavier. The Chardonnay grapes here are picked by hand and fermented in oak barrels made by Jadot’s cooperage. Aging usually lasts 15 months on fine lees before bottling. It is an expressive, full-bodied wine, offering notes of citrus, almonds, white flowers and a hint of lemongrass.

Bienvenues Bâtard Montrachet is situated on the Puligny Montrachet commune, where the communes of Puligny Montrachet and Chassagne Montrachet converge. It is bordering the Bâtard Montrachet vineyard and just under the Montrachet vineyard. Its exposure is east, on a chalky soil, quite heavy on the surface.
Dense and elegant wine, it releases notes of vanilla, roasting and white-fleshed fruits. Its structure is not expressed in power but in its delicate length supported by a beautiful acid balance.
