99 points James Suckling

The 10th Anniversary Edition is a collaboration between Bettina Bryant and Los Angeles artist Ed Ruscha, blending art, wine, friendship, and nature. Bryant, who admired Ruscha’s work since the 1990s, chose him for her artist wine label series. Ruscha created an abstract artwork evoking cascading grapes during winemaking, with the word “NOW” embedded as a reminder to be present and mindful. The wooden case itself becomes a canvas, echoing Ruscha’s vision of grapes tumbling down and bursting, leaving a joyful “mess” of juice and energy. The project celebrates beauty, community, and the stewardship of nature.

Pretty, ripe currants, hot stones and flowers on the nose, following through to a full body with polished, layered tannins and lots of juiciness. Lemony and spicy at the end with a botanical undertone to the finish. Elegance with strength. Fine, velvety tannins. Fruit from Madrona and Howell Mountain with a touch of Bryant.

98 points Jeb Dunnuck

Coming mostly from Madrona and Las Posadas, with a little estate fruit, the 2019 Bettina checks in as 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Petit Verdot and Merlot. This full-bodied, seamless, elegant red has lots of cassis and currant-like fruits, plenty of background spicy oak, perfectly ripe tannins, and lots of flowers, incense, tobacco, and spice-driven aromatics. The Cabernet Franc here saw a touch of whole clusters, and the wine was aged in 70% new French oak. It’s as classy as they come.

97+ points Vinous

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is a potent, tightly wound wine that will need at least a handful of years to soften. The aromatics alone are captivating. With time, the 2019 offers up generous red berry fruit, blood orange, rose petal, dried herbs and crushed rocks, all framed by bright, saline undertones that give the wine its shape. Just bottled, the 2019 shows better with each successive tasting. It’s an absolutely brilliant wine by any measure. Drinking window: 2025-2039.
