Opulent, overflowing nose with lots of black fruit. It is the first wine in 2021 with rich cherry. Including cassis and sweet blackberry, plus elderberry and lots of aniseed and mint. Nevertheless, the wine is not fat on the nose, it remains fine, but it is rich, dense and, above all, highly aromatic. Garrigue spice underneath and Provençal herbs, plus that licorice again, but also cigar box and sandalwood. A rich yet slender wine with a cool fruit aroma. The juicy mouth remains surprisingly lean. Rich black cherry, high acidity, red currant and blackcurrant acidity. Again aniseed and mint, but also black pepper. Rich and yet cool in its juicy drinking flow. Certainly the most predictable wine in this entire range. La Poza de Ballesteros remains true to itself in its opulence. It fulfills the expectations of this warm, rich site.

Such a brood of youthful black cherries with white pepper, minerals, chalk and iodine on the nose. Really fine, crumbled tannins on the palate, giving it linearity and expressiveness. Such precision and elegance for this vintage with an iron fist of silky tannins. This is even better than the 2020 vintage if you appreciate details and finesse over power and verticality. Drink from 2025.

1.18 hectares in Elvillar de Álava, clay soil with silt and coarse sand, west-facing, planted in 1960. Dense and intense, ripe dark berries, dark chocolate, and mint. Opulent and muscular, very Mediterranean, with enveloping tannins and excellent length.
