The Donelan Venus 2019 is a Rhône-inspired white blend from Sonoma County, predominantly Roussanne with a touch of Viognier. This vintage combines richness and vibrancy, thanks to a temperate growing season. Aromas of white blossoms, stone fruit, and honeyed citrus lead to a textured palate with flavors of pear, apricot, and lemon zest, complemented by minerality and subtle spice. Fermented in neutral oak, it achieves depth without overpowering elegance. Perfectly suited for lobster, roasted chicken, or creamy pastas, Venus 2019 reflects Donelan’s commitment to crafting sophisticated, terroir-driven wines. Production: 229 cases

The 2019 Venus is composed of Roussanne and Viognier and reveals a perfume of orange oil, marzipan, and white flowers. It is rounded and full-bodied, while also being light on its feet, with pear, beeswax, and lemon pith. With a supple texture and modest acidity, it will be fantastic drinking over the next 5-6 years. The 2019 Venus, Donelan’s Roussanne/Viognier blend, is terrific and also the most complete of the whites in the range. Roussanne adds the depth and textural richness that is at times missing in the Donelan whites. Pear, dried flowers, almonds and dried herbs build nicely in a mid-weight, beautifully layered white that has a ton to offer.
